Note: Do not make Silverlight 2 RC0 applications available for the public. Remember that this is more of a ‘preperation release’ where you get an opportunity (and time) to test and upgrade your applications, while the Silverlight RTW End-User release is in the pipeline.
What’s new in this release?
Let us quickly take an overview in what’s new in Silverlight 2 RC0. A few highlights of the release are as follows:
1. New Controls – 3 new controls have been added to the release. These are the PasswordBox, ComboBox(non-editable) and the ProgressBar control.
2. Cool new Control Templates are available now for Silverlight Controls. These templates update the look and feel of the existing controls and can be customized easily using a tool like Expression Blend.

4. Few changes have been made to how layouts are rendered.
5. Support for MessageBox.
6. WebClient can be used to upload and download files.

Note: I have only compiled these points as per my understanding from the list of references mentioned below. This list is in no way a comprehensive one.
