You got to know the basics of  jquery before using this book. The author has provided some useful links in AppendixB of this book to get you started. Lots of neat tips and ideas. The book is well-written, concise and can be used as a reference.

I wish there were a chapter on asp.net ajax too.

Overall I strongly recommend this book to everyone.

Just tried a sample. (http://www.dotnetcurry.com/ASPNETandjQuery/Section1-TextBox/R9-MaximumCharactersinTextBox.aspx). It handles only key events. Dint handle other events. Is it meant for it?
Comment posted by Keith on Saturday, November 7, 2009 4:38 AM
@Fayaz-In the ebook, the author has mentioned a line that says:
"Check Recipe 3 to see how to use bind() to handle mouse paste scenario. I guess that's what you are looking out for"

Great for anyone who knows jQuery and ASP.NET and has not yet integrated the two together. I would recommend getting up to speed on jQuery before using this book. The book is written with the assumption that the reader knows JQuery.

Very helpful

Great book. Love the no nonsense approach. All I hope for is to find the same sort of book for ASP.NET Ajax. I love this nononse example approach.

This is a great book. Not only does it contain code to solve issues (or challenges as the author puts it), it also contains a live demo to see the code in action. Very thoughtful.

I never saw this book. These guys are just adding bogus comments. They probably got my name off of Stack Overflow.
Comment posted by Admin on Sunday, April 25, 2010 7:03 AM
Bill: We wouldn't do that! The comments are posted by users and since we are not moderating them, we have no control on the names or the comments posted. There could also be a possibility of two people with the same name?

I have already read half the book and I just can't stop telling others about it. I am new to jquery but the book shares useful links and demos and that's what makes me comfortable while going through each recipe.

For the quality of titles/content/ease and price, I rate it 9 on 10. Well done.

Why not a real eBook format like epub or mobi, so we can read it with comfort on ebook readers?

Hi, I am From Bangalore, India.
I tried to order this book, But order was not successful and $1.0 also deducted from my credit card. What to do in that case.
Comment posted by Carol on Sunday, November 21, 2010 1:13 AM
@Shameem you will have to check with your credit card company. Many times for account verification, payment gateways deduct an amount and refund it again. However you should confirm this with your bank.

If you want to order this book via cheque or direct a/c transfer, drop me a mail at administrator[atdrate]dotnetcurry[dot]com
